Born on August 7, 1990, in Makurdi, Benue State, Monica Ogah is the youngest among six siblings. She credits her mother, a choir mistress, for being one of her earliest musical influences. Monica’s mother believed that her cries as a baby were laced with a God-given voice, foreshadowing her future as a talented singer. However, her father initially hoped she would pursue a career in nursing and was skeptical of her musical ambitions until she won the Project Fame reality show.
Monica attended Bammco Nursery and Primary School before moving to Methodist Girls’ High School in Otukpo, Benue State, for her secondary education. Later, she enrolled at Benue State University to study nursing but left the course due to academic challenges.
