The Pain of Loneliness

I feel as if I’ve lost it all,
Gazing up at the sky,
A calm, blue-bright snow drifts softly,
Moving so peacefully, yet alone.

I look around,
But no human in sight,
No one to speak with,
No one to laugh or play with.

Nature surrounds me,
Beautiful and grand,
Yet it feels distant,
A language I cannot understand.

A bird lands on a tree,
Singing a melody so curious,
It draws my attention,
But I cannot comprehend its song.

No one to share my thoughts,
No hand to hold,
I remember why God made Eve for Adam,
To walk together, to multiply, to belong.

Alone for days,
The heart grows weary,
The spirit grows weak,
And loneliness begins to sting.

I miss you all,
My friends, my companions,
I long to see you near,
To laugh, to share, to feel alive again.
